Wanted to thank you for what you are doing to promote all styles of Christian music on your site.
The site has served me well in my transition from secular hard-core stuff to Christian hard-core music, and has helped me identify what groups to listen for, and what their particular sound is.
For someone like me, who has no real other way to find out about Christian groups (there are no Christian stations in my area that are dedicated to Christina rock... which I plan to be the first to found... but all the other Christian stations play either Sandi Patti-ish stuff ONLY, or simply have a 2 or 3 hour show where they play the latest christian alternative rock).
So thanks again. The transition for Metallica to stuff like COde of Ethics and such is going even more smoothly than I planned. :-) ------------------ Rik

I think New Song Online is great. I wish more people would find it. As a 41 year old, recently recycled musician, I find New Song quite helpful. I have used some of the CCM midi tracks for our Church's Sunday services. We have about 3 or 4 bands that alternate Sundays, so we have music already. I find the midi tracks helpful for filling out our sound. We have Guitar, Bass, Drums, and vocals already, so it is a simple matter of muting those tracks and adding a click track of sorts (to make it possible to play in time with it) so that the midi can accompany our live playing. I was going through your web-page last night and really enjoyed it. I have always been greatly influenced by music and lately I've been trying to find Christian music that has the same sound that I like. This is very hard to do if you can only find out how a band sounds AFTER you purchase their album(s). Thanks to this page, my task has been reduced tremendously!! At any rate, I have found a couple of really good Christian bands that I enjoy listening to a lot and I wanted to share them with you because I noticed that they were not listed on any of your pages. Greetings from Prairie du Chien, WI....This was a wonderful journey, and I am now able to spend hours of prayer time listening to the many midi's I have downloaded to run with my screensaver. I am able to use this as a background format to my prayer time. The pictures I loaded into my screensaver, are pictures of his creation, ie. land and sea, sunsets, etc....it has brought about many "unexpected" sessions with the Lord, as I may be working in the middle of a project, and if the screensaver turns on, it will just pull me right into his presence. I will be back, to interchange my midi's from time to time. Thank you for your sensitivity to the Lord, and for bringing us so many inspirational songs to choose from. I just found your page today. You have done an excellent job on it. I downloaded several of your midi's for my own use (don't have a web page). I mainly wanted to comment on the following statement you made on the page.....
"While Bette and friends encounter God from a distance, we can know the Jesus Christ personally & up close. NSO feels that the other MIDI's posted here may minister to some with a positive message even though it's not overtly Christian."
I pondered over this issue as a new Christian years back and was blessed by a newspaper column Billy Graham wrote. Someone had written to him to see if was okay to listen to "worldly" music. His answer was that in the beginning, God created all things in perfection and beauty, including music. And while we should exercise discernment in these matters, the devil could not possibly corrupt everything. So even if some music may not be "overtly Christian" as you said, it still bears the imprint of the Creator. I like Your attitude!!!
