Mike is the first Christian Comedian I ever had the pleasure of seeing perform. I hope that my family and I can have the pleasure of seeing him once again before the Lord returns! During the late 70's and 80's Mike Warnke's albums were the most popular Christian comedy records produced anywhere. He was the America's #1 Christian Comedian. Sales were right up next to 200,000 in 1978. Claiming to be an ex-high priest of satan with a coven of 1500, and sharing his horrifying experiences and tales about satanism that would make any pew warmer shudder and thank God for delivering him from such a lifestyle. These tales from the dark side gave him even more of a celebrity status that won him more media attention and sold more books and albums.

When Cornerstone magazine brought accusations against him as being a fraud in 1991, his 20 years of success dissipated in 1992. You can check out the Cornerstone article "Warnke Update" and "Selling Satan, The Tragic History of Mike Warnke" that brought Mike's career to a screeching halt. (Cornerstone states the purpose of the article was to bring him to repentance, not destroy him) I was amazed and very skeptical, because I seen him in concert back in the 80's, and he was very convincing and funny. There were even people who responded to the altar call and were saved there. This just goes to show that he was human and may have made a mistake. God is love and offers forgiveness for all who have come short of His glory. It sure is a breathe of fresh air to know that Mike has a ministry and is spreading the Gospel again!

Mike was one of the greatest Christian Comedians ever, or was he one of the world's greatest con artists? Actually, he may have been have both, or many were conned by the Christian Press. Regardless what our opinions be or what we may think we know, God is the judge, knows all, and sees all.
